Boyfriend Charged With Murder Of Pregnant PA Woman: Police

The murder of a pregnant Delaware County woman has left her family grieving and her boyfriend behind bars, according to police.

Tanyiah Bell, who was eight months pregnant, was brutally murdered two days after celebrating her 19th birthday, according to a GoFundMe campaign set up for her mother, Tylicia Bell.

Kaiheem Jerelle Williams, 19, of Lansdowne, was charged with First-Degree Murder for shooting and killing his girlfriend in the 200 block of North Wycombe Avenue on Thursday, Nov. 14, the Lansdowne Police Department said in a Thursday, Nov. 19 new release.

Police have not officially released Bell's name as the victim at press time.

Bell's body was taken to the hospital in an attempt to save the unborn child, according to police. The child was delivered and remains in critical condition.

The child, a girl, is critically ill due to a lack of oxygen at birth, the GoFundMe campaign states. 

Tylicia Bell, who is a nurse, was devasted by the loss of her daughter and with her granddaughter fighting for her life in the hospital, she is unable to work, according to the GoFundMe. The money that's being raised will help her cover bills and living expenses so she can focus on healing and supporting her family.

The campaign has raised $5,620 of its $15,000 goal as of Tuesday, Nov. 19.

As for Williams, he was arrested following an investigation on Friday, Nov. 15, police said. He was charged with:

  • Criminal Homicide.
  • First-Degree Murder.
  • Third-Degree Murder.
  • Criminal Attempt - Murder of the First Degree.
  • Possession of an Instrument of Crime with Intent to Use.

He's being held in Delaware County Prison, according to court records. No bail was set because of the murder charges. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 26.
